Hello friends.
I started writing in the 1980's after age thirty. I wrote for love and sang as a servant at writers' nights and Christian coffee houses. After getting a couple cuts on record and a couple of ASCAP checks I got bitter because that was all I got. I turned off the love and tried to live that way. It wasn't very satisfying.
But after a drought God sends the rain. He granted me repentance and I slowly but surely started letting the love flow again.
This song represents one of my threads of art. A kind of holy modal Dylanesque statement.
If some of it sounds like word salad then consider those dummy lines and help me hammer the thing out.
Thanks.
Joe
Verse One:
Anyone can love anyone.
I've seen it and it's true.
Anyone can love anyone,
Even me, even you.
Everyone's runnin' empty,
Makin' like they've something to lose.
Anyone can love anyone.
Think about it; you'll see it's the truth.
Verse Two:
Anyone can love anyone.
Though we ride a fiery steed.
Anyone can love anyone,
Even you, even me.
Ain't no use in denyin'.
Everyone's got infinite needs.
Anyone can love anyone.
Try it sometime you'll see what I mean.
Verse Three:
Anyone can love anyone
The way God's Law commands.
Anyone can love anyone,
You and me and our fellow man.
Smilin' on our neighbors and brothers,
Able to receive what they give.
Anyone can love anyone,
All things come when love believes.
